The variability of the Larimar glowing colour makes it distinct and a true reflections of its origins.
It was first discovered in 1976, during a mining expedition in the Bahoruco mountain, the Priest Miguel Fuertes Loren along with a French geologist came across a blue-green stone, call by the locals "blue stone".

In 1974 Miguel Mendez rediscovered the stone and decided that it was gift for his daughter Larissa. He renamed it after her - Larri and 'mar' Spanish word for sea.
